Come join the Fintech team as a Staff Software Engineer! You will help build the next generation of financial experiences in QuickBooks. You’ll be part of a team responsible for crafting intuitive, reliable, and secure user interfaces across web and mobile platforms.

As a Staff Engineer, you will tackle our most complex technical challenges, delivering end-to-end solutions with a dedicated one-team mindset. You will serve as a technical leader who influences product and engineering strategy across teams, simplifying financial workflows for millions of small businesses.


Responsibilities

Solve ambiguous customer problems with robust and elegant technical solutions.

Lead the design and implementation of customer-facing applications from concept to production.

Drive engineering excellence as the technical lead in peer reviews for estimates, designs, and code.

Apply technical expertise to mentor engineers and solve complex programming challenges.

Contribute directly to the overarching design and architecture of the project.

Roughly 70% hands-on development and high-quality coding.

Resolve defects across testing, pre-production, production, and post-release phases.

Partner with product management, design, and other business units to influence product & tech solutions across teams.

Utilize Agile and Scrum methodologies to ensure high-velocity, iterative delivery.

Champion a one-team mindset to deliver impactful customer results.


Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent experience.

7+ years of experience architecting and developing high-scale web applications.

7+ years of expertise in React and JavaScript with single-page architecture.

Deep knowledge of web technologies including Redux, React Native, and modern frameworks.

7+ years of experience with object-oriented languages, experienced with Java and Python.

Proficiency in leveraging AI-driven tools to accelerate development.

Proven experience with test automation including TDD and comprehensive integration testing.

Strong background in relational database design and large-scale data implementation.

Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and act as a technical leader across teams.

Proven leadership in guiding technical discussions and driving cross functional alignment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to act as the technical go-to person for all stakeholders.

Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals and their practical application.

Proactive builder mindset with a focus on delivering high-impact, end-to-end solutions.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Mountain View $202,500 - $274,000
