Join us as an Accountant Intern to help keep Qonto’s financial records accurate, reliable, and ready for every monthly close. You’ll join the General Accounting team within Core Finance and contribute to the accounting lifecycle behind payroll, revenue, tax, equity, and provisions. As Qonto continues to grow across Europe, you’ll help the team complete essential accounting work on time while exploring how AI can make our processes and controls smarter.

➡️ As an Accountant Intern at Qonto, you will:

  • Support the monthly close: Prepare recurring accounting tasks throughout the month, contribute to payroll entries, review working papers, identify discrepancies, and help ensure that monthly and annual financial statements are delivered accurately and on time.

  • Keep daily accounting data accurate: Reclassify bank transactions, prepare fixed-asset files in our accounting software, and make sure each entry is recorded in the right place.

  • Work across key accounting cycles: Contribute to treasury accounting, the sales cycle, customer invoicing, and revenue reconciliations, including checking that all invoices generated during the month are complete and correctly allocated.

  • Grow into real ownership: Once you are comfortable with our processes, you may take responsibility for the Netherlands entity, gaining exposure to several accounting cycles, including payroll and tax.

  • Improve how we work with AI: Experiment with AI to automate repetitive processes and strengthen controls, while keeping accounting outputs accurate, traceable, and carefully reviewed.

➡️ What you can expect:

  • A complete view of accounting operations: You’ll see how accounting works in practice inside a fast-growing European fintech, not only in theory or through isolated tasks.

  • A clear monthly rhythm: The final week of each month is focused on preparing the next close; the first week is dedicated to final checks and resolving discrepancies; the following weeks cover tax filings and process improvements.

  • Progressive autonomy: You’ll begin with structured, recurring responsibilities and take on a broader scope as your confidence and reliability grow.

  • Close mentoring: You’ll learn alongside an experienced, supportive General Accounting team that enjoys sharing knowledge and working together.

  • Cross-functional and international exposure: You’ll collaborate mainly with Treasury, FP&A, and Accounts Payable, with possible interactions with People Ops, Legal, and Tax. You’ll start with France and may later contribute to the Netherlands entity.

  • Hybrid work in Paris: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.

➡️ About You:

  • You have solid accounting foundations: You can explain an income statement, balance sheet, assets and liabilities, and debit and credit in clear, simple terms. We value sound reasoning more than textbook definitions.

  • You are studying accounting or a related field: You have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree and are ideally pursuing a Master’s. A DCG or CCA background is particularly relevant; finance or management control can also fit if your accounting fundamentals are strong.

  • You are rigorous and detail-oriented: You check your work, spot inconsistencies, and understand why small errors matter in accounting.

  • You communicate clearly: You can ask the right questions, explain a numerical topic to a non-specialist, and flag missing information or blockers early.

  • You have working English: You can understand instructions and express your ideas. Mistakes are absolutely fine as long as communication remains clear.

  • You are curious about AI: You are willing to experiment with AI and automation to work more effectively, while keeping a critical eye on the output.

  • You are eager to learn: You welcome feedback, take responsibility for mistakes, and want to become progressively more autonomous.

➡️ About your future Manager:

Your manager will be David Torini, Lead General Accountant Group at Qonto. He'll give you day-to-day context on how General Accounting keeps the company's monthly and annual close on track, while giving you room to build practical experience and take on more responsibility as you go.

  • His background? David is a qualified chartered accountant and statutory auditor (Diplôme d'Expertise Comptable et de Commissariat aux Comptes). He spent three years as a financial auditor at KPMG, then nearly four years at Batt & Associés as Senior Manager in accounting & audit, before joining Qonto in 2024.

  • What he brings to the team? A mix of audit rigor and hands-on accounting leadership: he led the redesign of Qonto's chart of accounts as part of the SAP S/4HANA migration and cut the monthly closing cycle from 7 days to 4. He gives the team both technical grounding and the trust to grow into more autonomous work.
