Our Company
Neat brings people together with beautifully simple, versatile video devices and experiences. By minimizing the physical and virtual divide, we enable everyone to feel more connected, present and understood, however they prefer to work. We aim to make our technologies so intuitive that terms like “in-office” and “remote” will seem obsolete in five years. Neat’s pioneering portfolio addresses the needs of today’s workplace and natively supports Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and a range of compelling business apps.
We are an ambitious, accountable, collaborative, responsible, and growing team that fosters an environment where creativity and ingenuity can flourish. We strive to bring out the best in our Neaters and make amazing products and experiences. We are based in Oslo with Neaters working all over the world.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for Quality Assurance Engineers to help us prove out the hardware and software behind our video devices, before our customers ever see them. This is a hands-on R&D role for someone who likes taking a messy, hard-to-reproduce problem and turning it into something understood, documented and testable.
You’ll be based in our Oslo lab, working shoulder to shoulder with every R&D team: chasing down issues on real devices, testing new products long before launch, and helping shape how we verify them. You’ll take on real responsibility early and build deep technical knowledge fast. This is an on-site role in Oslo, and we’re happy to support relocation for the right candidate.
What you’ll do
Test new hardware and software products hands-on, from early prototypes through to release
Investigate complex, hard-to-reproduce issues across embedded, Android and Linux layers, and work with engineering to get to root cause
Grow our automated test coverage and help move manual checks into repeatable, reliable automation
Bring new devices into the lab and into our test setup smoothly
Help maintain and extend the lab itself, the infrastructure, tooling and setups the rest of R&D depends on
What we’re looking for
You might come from testing, software engineering, embedded systems or a technical degree with strong results. Your exact background matters less than your curiosity, your instinct for how systems break, and your belief that great testing is what makes great products possible.
Strong technical aptitude, you can understand, analyse and reproduce challenging problems
A strong interest in test automation, particularly around hardware-adjacent systems
Programming knowledge, ideally Python
A genuine appetite for troubleshooting and for picking up new technologies quickly
Good written and verbal English
Strong team instincts, paired with the ability to self-motivate and take initiative
Interest in several of: lab maintenance and extension, infrastructure, automation, embedded systems, virtualization and networking
Nice to have
Experience integrating hardware and software into automated test environments
Experience or curiosity around CI/CD, Docker, Linux and infrastructure tooling
Embedded software, Android or Linux experience
Familiarity with agile development and test
Exposure to any of: Bash, C++, Git, YAML, Gherkin, functional testing, machine learning
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, computer science or a similar field — or equivalent relevant work experience
Why Neat
You’ll join a team that’s eager to learn, set on building high quality, engaging experiences in a highly competitive market. Cross-functional teams, and support from caring engineers who all love what they do — you should too.
